Programme

The description and discussion of EU policies is put into the context of global trends and developments. Special attention is given to the concepts of human rights, good governance and rule of law, gender equality and women’s empowerment, as well as to environmental and energy questions and the domain of global health.

Taking into consideration Vienna’s special role as a seat of international organisations, the programme includes a discussion of global security issues and a study visit to the UN offices.

Methodology

In order to maximise its practical usefulness, the programme comprises a broad mix of academic analyses, critical discussion, study visits, and the training of soft and practical skills. In interactive exercises participants are able to sharpen their analytical capabilities, management and negotiation skills, as well as crisis management and conflict resolution strategies. The training consists of theoretical and practical oriented training modules with renowned Austrian and international experts, trainers & practitioners.

Please note that this is an intensive full-time training course.

The Executive Training Programme is organised by the Diplomatische Akademie Wien – Vienna School of International Studies in cooperation with the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs and the Austrian Development Cooperation.

The Austrian side does not cover any travel costs from Ukraine to the DA in Vienna and back and does not cover meals on the weekends as well as dinner during weekdays. We regret that we have no means to grant any additional financial allowances (“per diems” or the like).
