31st Diplomatic Ball 2026

31st Diplomatic Ball at the Diplomatische Akademie Wien

31st Diplomatic Ball 2026 (Photos © Hannah Shaffer)On 11 April 2026, the students of the Diplomatische Akademie Wien came together to host the 31st annual Diplomatic Ball. With almost 600 guests including ambassadors, diplomats, business leaders, students from around the world, and other distinguished guests, the 31st annual Diplomatic Ball was a roaring success.

The Diplomatic Ball Committee, led by President Carina Jagersberger, Vice President Ena Begonavic, along with Secretary Jacob Pesikoff, Treasurer Jakob Gartner, Debutant Coordinator Zoe Edwards, Head of Design Mariami Gavashelishvili, Head of Sponsors Mila Toshanova, and Head of Logistics Gilbert Frank, was thrilled to host this important event for the benefit of both the DA community and a worthy charity: DEBRA Austria, which researches treatments for Butterfly Children born with a rare genetic disorder causing their skin to break at the lightest touch.

Featuring student debutants, many different musical performances, homemade food all cooked by students themselves, and a series of fantastic Tombola prizes, the 31st Diplomatic Ball was a fantastic achievement made possible by the hard work and dedication of so many students.

Through their hard work and tenacity, the Diplomatic Ball’s dedicated sponsors team was able to raise EUR 20,000 for DEBRA Austria to support them in their critical mission. Representatives from DEBRA Austria, including Managing Director Dr. Rainer Riedl and Partnerships Director Kathrin Siegel, attended the Ball and personally expressed their gratitude. They underscored how such contributions are critical to sustaining and expanding their research supporting Butterfly Children.

The entire Ball Committee extends our sincerest gratitude to the DA community, including our generous sponsors and supporters for making this special event possible. We look forward to the growth and success of DEBRA Austria and extend our best wishes for their continued success.
